The BJP-led NDA coalition is poised to get a majority in the Lok Sabha to end a decade of Congress-led rule, three exit polls said Monday as India's staggered Lok Sabha polls ended.
The India Today-CICERO exit poll said the Bharatiya Janata Party alliance could touch the magic figure of 272 seats, the half-way mark in the 543 elected seats, the Congress-led UPA 115 and other parties 156 seats.
The ABP-Nielsen survey also predicted more than 272 seats for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and 110 for the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance.
Projections by India TV-CVoter gave the BJP-led NDA 289 seats in the Lok Sabha and the Congress-led UPA 101. Other groups were projected to get 148 seats and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) five seats nationally.
