A day after the BJP suffered the humiliation of its candidate's nomination being rejected by the poll officials in Tamil Nadu's Niligiri constituency, the party Tuesday said it has set up a committee to look into the reasons.
In a statement issued here, the Bharatiya Janata Party's state president Pon Radhakrishnan said a three member committee has been constituted to enquire into the reasons for the delayed submission of annexure to the nomination papers of S.Gurumurthy.
He said based on the committee's findings, the party will take appropriate action while urging the party cadres to remain calm.
Radhakrishnan said the party had bright chances of winning the Nilgiri seat where DMK's A.Raja, the former communications minister and prime accused in the 2G spectrum allocation case, is seeking reelection.
