The Delhi unit of the BJP on Thursday promised homes for all residents of the capital city by 2022, if it was voted to power in the civic polls to be held on April 23.
Kicking off the road show campaign for the civic elections from Rajouri Garden, Bharatiya Janata Party's Delhi unit President Manoj Tiwari said his party would ensure implementation of all welfare schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.
"It is our mission to provide homes to all by 2022 in Delhi. We will ensure that through the central government schemes, people can afford their own homes," Tiwari said.
Addressing a public meeting at Khyala in support of BJP candidates for the civic polls, Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said: "It was unfortunate that Congress propped up Arvind Kejriwal around 2011-12 who has now thoroughly destroyed the growth infrastructure of Delhi".
"It is shocking that Kejriwal who came to power showing a bundle of 370 pages of corruption charges against Sheila Dikshit is today unable to face the people on the 404-page Shunglu Committee report," Naidu said.
The Shunglu Committee, appointed by former Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung, has accused the AAP government of abuse of power and nepotism and irregularities in making appointments.
