Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh panchayat polls, BJP vice-president Om Mathur on Monday took stock of the party's preparedness in the state and organisational work here at the party headquarters.
Party spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak told IANS that Mathur met all the state's general secretaries and deliberated on the progress of the 'Mahasampark Abhiyan'.
He gave specific guidelines to not only meet the membership targets but also generate goodwill for the party in the wake of the good work done by the union government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Om Mathur also instructed party leaders to ensure that all active members take part in the Deendayal Upadhyaya Training Mahabhiyan in their respective zones, the party official said.
Mathur also said that for training of workers, online registration through mobile applications be made mandatory.
The leader discussed the party's strategy with regard to the three-tier panchayat polls scheduled for September-October. Mathur will meet party office bearers and other senior leaders and party functionaries on Tuesday also, Pathak said.
