Women workers, supporters and leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would be staging a sit-in and demonstrate in the state capital on Thursday against the alleged objectionable comments made by Bahujan Samaj Party leaders against the wife and daughter of former BJP leader Daya Shankar Singh.
BJP General Secretary Anupama Jaiswal informed media that the programme was scheduled soon after a bitter altercation broke out between the BSP and the BJP in which leaders and workers of the former had dragged the family members of Singh into the political slugfest.
"We are demanding the immediate dismissal of BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui from the post of the Leader of Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh legislative council and his arrest along with other BSP leaders," Jaiswal told reporters.
She claimed that thousands of women workers would march through the city streets on Thursday against the comments of BSP leaders.
The demonstration would be joined by all women BJP MPs from the state, legislators, municipal corporation chairpersons and public representatives.
