Germany's Hamburg airport was reopened on Thursday evening after being closed for over one hour due to field trespassing by two persons fleeing from custody, according to local media.
According to German media Bild, the two persons are deportees who escaped from the immigration authorities' exit custody, Xinhua reported.
The Focus Online quoted a spokesperson of the Federal Police as saying that the two persons had entered the runway around 7 p.m. One of them has been taken into custody while the second are still on the run.
Some of the aircraft were diverted to airports in Bremen or Hannover during the closure. Passengers were stuck in the waiting machines on the tarmac.
At 9.35 p.m., the federal police lifted the blocking of the Hamburg airport, according to FOCUS Online.
Affected by the trespassing, Hamburg airport was temporarily closed Thursday evening with all flights diverted to Bremen or Hannover.
