Ten bodies and the blackbox of a small passenger plane, which went missing last week in eastern Indonesia, were retrieved on Tuesday, a rescue official said.

The twin engine Otter DHC-6 plane with 10 people aboard lost contact on October 2 Friday en route from Masamba to Makassar in South Sulawesi province. The people on board comprised the pilot, two technicians and seven passengers.

The wreckage was found on Monday.

The bodies have been shifted to Damaru village in Latimojong sub-district, Xinhua reported the spokesman of the National Search and Rescue Office, Zainul Tjahar, as saying.

"All the 10 bodies are now at Damaru village. They were carried down from the mountain. They will be transported to Ulu Salu village and airlifted by a helicopter to Makassar city," Tjahar said.

"And the black box has also been discovered," he added.

The spokesman said the bodies would be identified at the police hospital in Makassar.
