Imagine the impact of Bollywood music, combined with larger-than-life production, special effects, graphics, dancers, singers and disc jockeys - such a live entertainment experience will come alive to fans with BollyBoom. Its first edition will be held in the capital Nov 24.
The BollyBoom fest is initiated by Percept Limited in association with Sonu Nigam, Salim-Suleiman, and Talat Aziz.
Percept plans to invest Rs.300 million to build the BollyBoom, and is targeting a live attendance of about 100,000 in financial year 2014, further growing to 500,000 by financial year 2016, read a statement.
Talking about the need of such a fest, Manuj Agarwal, CEO, Percept Live, said: "Bollywood events have been confined to being TV shows. Though the popularity of Bollywood music talent is unquestionable, their live concerts haven't come close to any of international artists."
"We don't speak of their concerts in the same league as that of Rihanna's, David Guetta's or even any upcoming artist concert. The reason being the scale and packaging. We need to back them up with latest production, technicals, special effects and music trends."
At BollyBoom, known music artists from the industry will infuse chartbusters with an intrinsic mix of live entertainment elements.
Over time, Percept will take BollyBoom to other venues within the country as well as globally.
Short term plans cover Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Indore, Nagpur, Jaipur, Pune, Lucknow, Hyderabad in India, and overseas locations include London, Birmingham, Manchester, Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta.
The music at the event will be a blend of Trance, House, Hip Hop, Electro Funk, Synthetic, Pop, Club Music, Techno, Trance, Hardstyle and Dubstep. The concerts are likely to be backed by state-of-the-art technology.
