Global medical devices company Boston Scientific's 'Navigation Express' -- a mobile van showcasing ground-breaking medical innovations -- on Monday completed a tour of 130 hospitals in 52 cities in India to demonstrate the latest medical technologies to nearly 2,690 medical professionals.
The Navigation Express began its tour on July 15 and covered more than 14,834 kilometres through 12 states in the past 21 weeks.
"We are delighted with the successful completion of the journey of the Navigation Express," Prabal Chakraborty, Vice President and Managing Director, Boston Scientific India, said in a statement.
The display, housed inside a 20-foot-long vehicle, focused on less-invasive treatments for disorders of the cardiac and peripheral vasculature and gastrointestinal tract, as well as arrhythmias.
Through the Navigation Express healthcare institutions and providers were exposed to advances in medical devices and equipments across a range of medical specialties via demo products, models and interactive displays.
"This initiative enabled us to bring the latest medical innovations to doctors and other healthcare providers across India and enabled healthcare providers to engage with our subject matter experts directly as they expanded their knowledge of our latest solutions for unmet clinical need," Chakraborty said.
