The Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended a 17-year-old boy and seized fake Indian currency notes (FICNs) with a face value of nearly Rs.2 lakh from his possession in West Bengal, an officer said on Friday.

The seizure was made on Thursday night in Malda district's Kaliachak area.

"We apprehended Panna Lal Kumar, a resident of West Champaran in Bihar, and seized FICN of the face value of Rs.1,99,000 from him. The accused and the FICNs were handed over to police," said a BSF officer.

The BSF has so far this year seized FICNs with a face value of Rs.1.32 crore and apprehended 11 people.
