Britain's Cameron Norrie and Katie Boulter pulled off a 2-1 victory over Serena Williams and Frances Tiafoe of the United States at their mixed doubles match at the Hopman Cup on Thursday.
Although Williams won her singles match 6-1, 7-6(2) against Boulter, the US was eliminated as Norrie defeated Tiafoe 7-6 (5), 6-0, and Britain came from a set down to win 3-4(2), 4-3(4), 4-1 in the mixed doubles, reports Efe news.
"She's (Williams) a champion so to actually share the court with her is such a privilege and of course we are really happy to get the win," Boulter said, according to the tournament's official website.
Meanwhile, world No. 90 Norrie was equally happy with his win over Tiafoe, ranking 39 in the world.
"It was tough today," said Norrie. "Frances came out and played very aggressive from the start and was serving well."
Williams has won all of her singles matches at the tournament but the US team was defeated 2-1 in all their ties against Switzerland, Greece and Britain.
