British High Commissioner to India James Bevan on Wednesday requested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to protect a war cemetery threatened by encroachment in the city, a statement said.

Bevan called on Kejriwal at the Delhi secretariat and urged him to ensure the protection of the war cemetery in Model Town area of north Delhi.

"The chief minister immediately directed the divisional commissioner to inspect the site and send a report to his office about the required measures for protection," the statement said.

Seeking to know the priorities of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, Bevan was told by Kejriwal that ending corruption was on the top of the agenda apart from improving education, health, water and electricity infrastructure.

Kejriwal told Bevan that Delhi will become a corruption-free city in the next five years.
