British Prime Minister Theresa May on Monday expressed her "full confidence" in Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond after he was accused of slowing progress toward Brexit.
May's support came a day after the media said that colleagues believe Hammond was trying to undermine the Brexit process by delaying decisions on migrant curbs, Xinhua news agency reported.
The Prime Minister's spokesperson told the media on Monday the British leader believes that Hammond's focus was on how best to approach Brexit negotiations.
Some British media have earlier slammed Hammond, accusing him of "arguing like an accountant seeing the risk of everything" rather than pushing ahead with plans.
