BSF, Rangers agree to improve visibility on border

The BSF and the Pakistan Rangers on Tuesday agreed to clear wild grasses and thick bushes in the international border area to improve visibility while patrolling, a police official said.

A "casual contact" meeting was held between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers on the international border in Samba district to discuss maintaining peace and tranquility on the border, the official said.

"The meeting was held at Mangu Chak border outpost from 12.40 p.m. to 12.45 p.m. between officers of 9th battalion of BSF and 24th battalion of Pakistan Rangers.

"An assistant commandant, four inspectors and 12 constables from the BSF and one wing commander and five other rank personnel of Rangers took part in th e meeting.

"During this contact meeting both sides agreed to clear the area by cutting wild grass and thick bushes to improve visibility during patrolling of the international border," a senior police officer told IANS here.
