The post-mortem report of BSP leader Narendra Kashyap's deceased daughter-in-law has indicated that her death occurred due to an ante-mortem bullet injury.

It also listed blackening around eyes and traumatic swelling in the middle of Himani Kashyap's forehead, along with contusions on both palms and haematoma and nose bleeding.

Himani, 29, was found dead in a bathroom of her in-laws' Sanjay Nagar residence here at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday with a gunshot injury to her head.

Following her death, Bahujan Samaj Party's Rajya Sabha member Narendra Kashyap and five of his family members were booked in a dowry death case.

The post-mortem report said Himanshi sustained a head wound above her right ear, with blackening around the injury.

Her uncle Hari Om Kashyap, on whose police complaint the case was lodged, alleged that Himani was shot dead by the parliamentarian's family.

"Otherwise, why are there contusions on her palms and a hematoma on her forehead. The contusions on her palms occurred as she must have tried to defend herself. Hematoma could have occurred due to a strike by a blunt object on the forehead," he said.

He accused police of laxity in arresting three other accused - Himani's two sisters-in-law Sarita and Shobha and brother-in-law Siddharth.

"Police arrested the three accused on Thursday under the anti-dowry law. Investigation is still on and if we come across evidence against others, we will arrest them," said Superintendent of Police (City) Salman Taj Patil.

A Ghaziabad court on Thursday sent Narendra Kashyap, his wife Devendri Devi and their son Sagar to 14-day judicial custody in the case.
