Unidentified burglars stole Rs.6 lakh from the Life Insurance Corporation's Murad Nagar branch office, an official said Tuesday.
The incident came to light Tuesday morning when the branch manager opened the office after four days of holidays.
Manager Vineet Kumar, in his complaint, said burglars broke open the shutter of the office, got to the strong room and broke open the cash box where cash amounting to Rs.5.80 lakh was kept.
"The police have registered a case and investigation is being conducted," said SP Rural Jagdish Sharma.
