A 32-year-old bus driver was shot in the stomach by a property dealer here in an incident of road rage, police said Monday.
The shooting was reported around 9.30 p.m. Sunday from Jagatpuri area in east Delhi, according to police.
Mohammed Nazim, a private bus driver, was shot in the stomach by the 26-year-old property dealer, identified as Punit Gupta.
Police said Gupta was forced to follow the bus for a long time as he could not get enough space to overtake it -- and when he finally did overtake the bus, he scrapod his car slightly. This angered Gupta who stopped his car in front of the bus and got into a heated argument with Nazim.
"During the argument, Nazim first slapped one of Gupta's friends and then injured his three other friends with a knife. Later, Gupta pulled out a pistol and shot Nazim and fled from the spot," Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar told IANS.
Nazim was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is stated to be out of danger.

Gupta was travelling in a Santro car along with his four friends - identified as Ankit, Pranab, Harsh and Yogi - when the incident took place.
"Ankit, Pranab and Harsh were arrested near Mayur Vihar area after chasing the car they were travelling in but Gupta and Yogi managed to escape," said the official.
The official said that Ankit, Pranab and Yogi received minor injuries in the fracas.
