Contrary to expectations that he would retire after the World Cup triumph, Joachim Loew will see out his contract and lead Germany into the Euro 2016.

This was confirmed by the coach in an interview with DFB Wednesday, dispelling speculation in the German media that Loew would retire after steering Germany to their fourth World Cup title in Brazil, reports Xinhua.

Explaining the reasons for his continuance as coach till Euro 2016 in France, Loew said he can't think of anything better than staying on with the world champions.

"At this moment I can't think of anything better than continuing my work with this team and to lead them to the Euro 2016 in France. I am as motivated as I was on the first day at the DFB. We celebrated a huge success in Brazil but yet there are still other goals we want to achieve," said Loew.

Loew denied any thoughts of a retirement after 10 years as Germany coach. "I have never thought that for a second. I have not renewed my contract until 2016 with the DFB to retire prematurely."

Loew replaced Jurgen Klinsmann as Germany's head coach after the World Cup in 2006.
