At least 10 soldiers were killed and 12 injured Tuesday in two car bombings targetted at a military base and an army check point in Yemen's Hadramout province.

"A car bomb exploded at the main gate of the military base when high-ranking military commanders were attending a meeting", leading to the death of six soldiers, a security official told Xinhua.

The second explosion occurred when another bomb struck a key army check point in Seiyun town, killing four soldiers and injuring 12, the official added.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks.
