Designer Carolina Herrera has criticised Kim Kardashian West and Beyonce Knowles's revealing Met Gala gowns and insists stars can't be considered "fashion icons" if they aren't wearing enough clothes.
The 76-year-old has slammed the stars' choice of attire after they opted for sheer, cleavage baring dresses at the prestigious event last month and claims they can't be considered "fashion icons" if they step out "almost naked".
"They're supposed to be fashion icons - and they're not wearing anything. It's an obsession now," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Herrera as saying.
"(Some designers think) It's so modern to be naked or almost naked. They think it's going to attract young people if they do those dresses. No! They're trying to get people to pay attention to them. In life, there should be a little mystery," she added.
