Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett has a date with India on Friday. At the Women in the World summit here, she will not only share about her life as an artist in the world of glitterati, but also delve upon her humanitarian side.

The Hollywood actress, best known for "Blue Jasmine" and "Elizabeth", will land in the capital late night on Thursday.

At the summit, being organised by internationally popular journalist and author Tina Brown at the Taj Mahal Hotel at Mansingh Road, Blanchett will not just moderate a panel discussion on Syrian refugees crisis, but also talk about her life as an actress and philanthropist.

"Cate is an extraordinary personality. We are talking to her of course about her life as an artist but she will be moderating a panel of discussion. She is very committed to her work in UN (United Nations) with the refugees. She is moderating the panel about the Syrian refugees, so she is the highlight of the summit," Brown told IANS.

Blanchett supports United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and works towards ensuring refugees receive the care and need they deserve.

The convention takes in notice all the struggles and triumphs of women and girls around the globe, and it will narrate how they fought against the obstacles and emerged as winners. It promises to bring forward some extraordinary and inspiring stories of women from different sections of the society.

Blanchett may get the glamour quotient to the summit, but there other highlights as well.

Critically acclaimed stars Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das, Iranian female racing car driver Laleh Seddigh, an Israeli and a Palestinian mother working together to find peace are some of those who will join the women force to take a step forward for a better future.
