Fast moving diversified consumer goods major CavinKare Monday announced setting up of 50 captive retail outlets, badged Cavin's Parlour, across Tamil Nadu, to vend dairy products, beverages, snacks and food items.
"To begin with, we have plans of opening 50 more outlets spread across Tamil Nadu by the end of this calendar year and then expand to other markets in a phased manner," C.K. Ranganathan, chairman and managing director, said in a statement.
He said the company has opened its first Cavin's Parlour under the franchisee model here.
The Rs.1,200 crore turnover CavinKare will expand its retail outlets through a mix of own as well as franchisee owned outlets.
The company owns brands in personal care, foods, dairy and beverages segments.
CavinKare's brand portfolio for the retail outlets would be pickles and snacks (Ruchi, Chinni's and Garden), beverages (Maa), dairy products (Cavin's).
With this retail foray, the company would cross swords with the state-owned Aavin Milk Parlours (selling dairy products, sweets and others) and Hatsun outlets selling dairy products.
