A sub-inspector of Delhi Police was arrested by the CBI for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000, the investigative agency said on Thursday.
In a statement, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said the arrested officer was posted at Narela police station and demanded Rs.15,000 from the complainant for not implicating him in a case.
"A case was registered under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act against the sub-inspector for demanding bribe. We laid a trap and caught him red-handed while accepting Rs.10,000, the CBI statement said.
The accused will be presented in the court on Friday.
