Aimed at providing psychological help to students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Tuesday started its second phase of tele-counselling for those who appeared for their Class 10 and 12 examinations.

"Students can dial a toll free number - 1800 118 004 - from any part of the country to get centralised access to the CBSE tele-helpline," a CBSE statement said.

The tele-counselling, which will continue till June 10, will have 54 principals, trained counsellors from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools and a few psychologists addressing psychological problems of the students.

While 44 counsellors are from India, 10 are located in Kuwait, the UAE, Nepal, Saudi Arabia and Oman, the statement said.

"While the general queries will be answered by the operators, students will be connected to the counsellors in case of result-related anxiety or stress," the statement said.

The CBSE Tuesday declared the results for its Class 10 examinations. The first phase of pre-examination counselling for both parents and students was held in February. This phase included online as well as tele-counselling.
