Spanish international footballer Manuel "Nolito" Agudo has downplayed rumours linking the Celta de Vigo striker to a possible move to European champions FC Barcelona, but he acknowledged that as far as his career was concerned "the best is yet to come".
"I'm trying to stay calm and help Celta as much as possible and to disconnect from everything that is being said about me," Efe quoted Nolito as saying at the national team's training complex in the town of Las Rozas outside Madrid on Wednesday.
"I do not know if I'm in the prime of my career, but I am very happy and feel good. Things are going well, I can't complain, but I think the best is yet to come," the 28-year-old added.
On September 23, Celta stunned Barcelona 4-1, with Nolito getting Celta on the board first in the 25th minute on a high shot that slipped into the net just out of reach of goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Celta are currently third in the La Liga standings, with 15 points, with Barcelona in fourth place, also with 15 points.
