The emerging challenges in the country's tax administration can be met through ingenuity, innovation and adoption of new ideas and technology, President Pranab Mukherjee has said.
"New challenges have emerged in the wake of globalization and economic integration. These challenges in tax administration can be met through ingenuity, innovation and adoption of new ideas and technology," Mukherjee told a group of 144 trainee Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers Wednesday.
Mukherjee said: "With enthusiasm and innovative thinking, the young IRS officers can bring changes in tune with rapidly transforming national and global scenario."
The trainee officers, including 38 women officers are undergoing a 16-month course at the National Academy of Direct Taxes in Nagpur.
