Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix organisers Saturday launched the three-day and race day tickets together for the first time, with the cheapest Sunday ticket priced at Rs.1,500. The cheapest three-day ticket will cost Rs.2,000.

Race promoters Jaypee Sports International (JPSI) are aiming for a bigger crowd than the 2012 edition at the Buddh International Circuit where the turnout dropped to 60,000 from the 95,000 seen in the inaugural edition. That is one of the reasons why they have introduced optional pricing for the grand stand.

The seats closer to start-finish line come at Rs.21,000 for three days and Rs.12,000 for Sunday. The tickets for the upper tier of the 20,000 capacity stand cost Rs.15,000 (three-days) and Rs.10,000 (Sunday) for the Oct 25-27 racing extravaganza.

Spectators paid Rs.21,000 and Rs.12,000 for a grand stand seat last year while the entry level fares were Rs.3,000 and Rs.2,000.

The interest for the event should be high considering the Grand Prix will not happen in 2014.

JPSI CEO Sameer Gaur said: "F1 lovers now have every reason to cheer as single day race tickets have been launched together with the season tickets in order to draw more number of spectators for race day. With one of the cheapest tickets available on the F1 calendar, we hope to put up another memorable racing weekend at BIC."
