Chelsea has offered 75 million euros ($83 million) to sign Spanish forward Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, according to a report by Spanish soccer newspaper Marca on Thursday.
If the deal is finalised, Morata will become the most expensive Spanish soccer player in history, surpassing Fernando Torres, who moved from Liverpool to the Blues for 58 million euros ($64 million) in 2011, reports Efe.
Several Premier League clubs, such as Arsenal, are competing to purchase Morata, who just moved back from Juventus to Real Madrid, after the latter activated the buy-back clause in his contract.
