China dominated the weightlifting podium winning two golds at the Incheon Asian Games here Friday.

Olympic gold medallist Zhou Lulu proved herself the strongest woman in Asia by lifting 192 kilograms to break the world record in the clean and jerk of the women's over 75kg division. She also broke the Asian Games record in snatch with 142kg and set a new Asian record with a total of 334kg, reports Xinhua.

"I'm very delighted with breaking both my record and the world record and it is meaningful for the record to be set in South Korea," said Zhou, who believes that she will break more records in the world weightlifting championships next year.

Kazakhstan's Mariya Grabovetskaya had to settle for the silver with 302kg, while the bronze medal went to Thailand's Chitchanok Pulsabsakul with 292kg. Yang Zhe won the men's 105kg weightlifting division, adding the second gold for China.

Yang's road to victory was not as smooth as Zhou. He even failed his second and third lift for snatch, but his first snatch of 186kg was good enough to secure him first place.

Yang lifted 217kg in the clean and jerk to finish the competition with a total of 403kg, beating Kim Min jae of South Korea to the second place with 397kg. Sardorbek Dusmurotov of Uzbekistan took the bronze with 391kg.

Iran's Behdad Salimikordasiabi took the gold of the men's over 105kg devision after breaking three Asian Games records with 210kg in snatch, 255kg in clean and jerk, and 465kg in total, respectively.

Ai Yunan of China took the silver with a total of 425kg, while the bronze went to Chen Shih Chien of Chinese Taipei with 424kg.
