China opposes any country using domestic laws to carry out "long arm jurisdiction" against Chinese entities or individuals, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday.
The US Department of Justice said it had filed criminal charges against China's Dandong Hongxiang Industrial Development Co. and its executives for supporting the nuclear programme of North Korea, Xinhua news agency reported.
Spokesperson Geng Shuang said China's position on North Korea's development of nuclear weapon and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is clear and consistent.
China has earnestly and faithfully been implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2270 and fulfilling its obligations in non-proliferation export controls, he said, adding that China's efforts are well known by the international society.
Any person or company found in breach of the regulations will be punished, and if necessary China will cooperate with other countries on this on the basis of mutual respect and equality, Geng told a daily press briefing.
"We have made this position known during recent communications with the US side," Geng said.
