China's chief justice Zhou Qiang has urged courts across the country to guarantee the public right of access to judicial information and supervision.
The courts should make information on the judicial system available to the public in a timely fashion in the era of new media and provide explanations if necessary to clear up public doubts, reported Xinhua citing Zhou, who is also president of the Supreme People's Court, during a conference on courts' news and publicity work.
The courts should also be subject to public supervision and respond quickly to public concerns, the chief justice said, while asking the courts to ensure just and honest rulings as well as effective enforcement so that all people are equal before the law.
