A 15-member delegation of the People's Liberation Army of China met senior Indian Army officers and both sides agreed that peace at border is important for "development" and "bilateral relations", an official statement said on Wednesday.
The delegation from the Western Theatre Command of People's Liberation Army is on a five-day visit to India which began February 21.
It is led by Major General Zhao Jin Song, Vice Chief of Staff of Headquarters, Western Theatre Command at Chengdu and has New Delhi, Agra and Kolkata on the itinerary, the statement said.
The delegation had called on senior Army officers at the Army Headquarters here on Tuesday, the statement said.
"The two sides exchanged views on wide ranging issues and agreed that peace and tranquility on the border is an important guarantor for development and continued growth of bilateral relations," the statement said.
"The leaders of two delegations discussed the importance of having regular bilateral exchanges and additional Border Personnel Meeting points," it said.

The visit is continuation of the enhanced engagements between the two armies which also saw the Western Theatre Commander, General Zhao Zongqi, visit India in December 2016.
