An anti-graft body transferred the case of Chen Zengxin, a former member of the party's leadership in Shanwei city, to judicial authorities. He has been also sacked from his office, the China Daily said Thursday.
Chen is suspected to have abused power for personal gains and taken large sums of bribes, a statement by the provincial anti-graft body said.
It was not revealed how much bribe the 1956-born Chen, who joined CPC at the age of 20, allegedly took.
Shen was promoted to the rank of director of the population and family planning commission of Shanwei city in 2000 and then became director of Shanwei's land and natural resources bureau in 2004. He was then promoted to the important post of of city's party leadership.
