Chinese stocks opened lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.24 percent at 2,730.98 points.
The smaller Shenzhen index opened 0.3 percent lower at 9,389.62 points, Xinhua reported.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.24 percent to open at 1,989.21 points.
