A Chinese college student detained in Iraq has been freed, officials said on Tuesday.
According to the Chinese embassy in Iraq, Liu Tuo, a student with China's Peking University and an archaeology major, was freed on Monday and is in good health.
He has arrived in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the Global Times reported.
The embassy also said that Liu is going to return home soon.
Earlier this month, Liu was detained as reports said he was suspected to have links to the Islamic State (IS) militant group, but this was later proved wrong.
Reports said that he had gone to Iraq to visit historical sites and was mistakenly thought to be a terrorist.
