Singer Chris Brown has been arrested on felony assault charges.
A spokesperson with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said Brown was arrested on Tuesday afternoon and formally charged with assault with a deadly weapon following an incident early in the day, reports variety.com.
"Brown is going to be transported where he will be arrested for ADW - assault with a deadly weapon," Lieutenant Chris Ramirez of Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) told reporters.
Police responded to a call at about 3 a.m. on Tuesday, in which a woman said Brown threatened her with a gun during an altercation. After a police report was filed, police officials obtained a search warrant for his Tarzana, California, property.
Brown initially refused to leave his home for the police investigation, resulting in an hours-long standoff. His attorney, Mark Geragos, arrived at Brown's home shortly after the warrant was issued.
At one point, Brown reportedly threw a bag out of his window that contained guns and drugs. That first broke the news of his arrest.

As news broke on Tuesday, Brown posted a series of videos on Instagram declaring his innocence. He called the police "idiots" and went on to say, "I'm innocent f**k everybody I'm tired of hearing this s**k."
"When you get the warrant or whatever you need to do, you're going to walk right up in here and you're going to see nothing. You idiots," he said.
