Chrysler will recall 58,643 of its imported 2011-2015 Dodge Journey SUVs in China after finding fire risks in the vehicles, the media reported on Thursday.
The affected vehicles were manufactured between July 19, 2010 and May 26, 2015, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in a statement on its website.
Chrysler said the engine hood of the affected vehicles may become loose and touch the exhaust manifold, which may result in fire, Xinhua news agency reported quoted the statement as saying.
The company has promised to repair the faulty components free of charge after a recall starting October 31.
