Cliantha Research, an Ahmedabad-based lifesciences company with a global outreach, has acquired Karmic Lifesciences, a Mumbai-headquartered contract research organisation.
Founded in 2005 by Nidhi Saxena, Karmic Lifesciences has executed more than 150 clinical trials and more than 75 clinical data management and bio-statistics projects.
"Karmic gives us an opportunity to expand in the clinical data management, pharmaceutical analytics and medical marketing business," said Vijay Patel, executive director of Cliantha Research.
"Nidhi and her team have developed a robust clinical data management eSuite: kTrials. We shall immediately be able to execute and port all our trials onto kTrials eClinical Suite," Patel added.
kTrials supports end-to-end operational activities right from project set-up, planning, budgeting, execution, performance analytics and reporting for all clinical trials conducted by Karmic.
"Cliantha brings in strong clinical, bio-analytical and diagnostics capabilities that lend huge synergy to our existing clinical business. Together we hope to provide an end-to-end services portfolio to our global clients," Nidhi Saxena, CEO, Karmic Lifesciences, added.
The therapeutic areas where Karmic is active includes oncology, cardiovascular, diabetes, neurology, auto-immune diseases, ophthalmology, and medical devices, a statement from Cliantha Research said.
