Severe cold conditions will continue in Delhi till Saturday, January 14, the weather office said adding that the minimum temperature on Wednesday was four degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 17.2 degree Celsius, three notches below the season's average for the National Capital Region.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), due to cold wave in several regions of North India, the minimum temperature in Delhi is likely to drop to three degrees on January 13 and 14.

The minimum temperature on Thursday is likely to remain consistent at 4 degrees Celsius with the possibility of only a slight drop. On Tuesday, the minimum temperature was 5.2 degrees Celsius.

"Cold wave like situation would continue in Delhi at least till the weekend. The minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to increase after January 15," an IMD official told IANS.

IMD officials said it may rain on Sunday, January 15 evening, and the minimum temperature may rise due to the cloud cover.
