Former Colombian football star Freddy Rincon backed Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane over an ongoing controversy over the instability of Colombian forward James Rodriguez in the starting lineup of the Spanish club.
Rincon on Tuesday said Zidane "is a coach who people speak well of, both as a person and as a player" and that if a player is doing what Rodriguez isn't, he has the right to take decisions that will be the best for the team, reports Efe.
Speaking of upcoming days in the World Cup qualifiers, wherein Colombia will play Paraguay on Thursday in an away match and later face-off against Uruguay at home on Tuesday, he admitted that the team will not be in the best of forms owing to injuries among players, including Rodriguez and midfielder Daniel Torres.
