Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said the government was working towards fulfilling the dreams of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Jan Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee to make India an "economic superpower".
"Our government is working towards fulfilling the dreams of S.P. Mukherjee, Deen Dayal Upadhyay ji and Atal ji to make India an economic superpower," Singh said while addressing 'Vikas Parv' function organised by the Delhi unit of Bharatiya Janata Party.
"We are committed to the country's development, with speedy clearance of files. Decision-making is done with a vision and by maintaining transparency. The Gross Domestic Product growth is now back to 8 percent due to the prime minister's vision and commitment," he said.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to social change and has concern for basics things like toilets in villages and developing shipping and roads infrastructure.
"Our government does not believe in victimising people on the basis of their religion or caste. Modi ji believes in the concept of e-governance, e-business and e-courts. About 30 crore people are beneffiting from direct subsidy benefits," he added.
