The Congress on Saturday condemned Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's comments wherein he said that discussions, especially in media, end up derailing objectives.
"Parrikar is behaving like a dictator when he says that discussions are not important, in fact detrimental to achieving objectives. In a democracy, all voices need to be heard. You cannot just push things without any discussion," Congress Secretary Girish Chodankar told the media here.
Speaking at the 126th birth anniversary celebrations of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar here on Friday, Parrikar said: "There are some things where discussions should be minimum... Discussions can be a spoiler. Today, the media was asking me about some issues. I told them -- do you want this thing to happen, or do you want it to become news."
"If you want it to happen, do not discuss it too much in the news. When there is a discussion, one person says one thing, while someone else says something else," Parrikar added.
