BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Sunday accused the Congress of ignoring Muslims, saying the community has largely remained poor despite decades of Congress rule.

Addressing an election rally here, Modi said: "In Gujarat, the average percentage of poor among urban Muslims is 14 percent. This is as high as 50 percent in Uttar Pradesh."

Modi attacked Congress president Sonia Gandhi for not doing enough for Muslims.

"They are deceiving people in the name of secularism. Poor Muslims have not gained from (the government's) welfare programmes."

Modi pledged to make efforts to bring back black money stashed abroad if the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Lok Sabha election.

Earlier, addressing another rally in Bijnor, Modi charged the Congress with playing divisive politics.

Taking a broad sweep, he dubbed the Congress, Bhaujan Samajwadi Party and Samajwadi Party candidates "WWF wrestlers".
