Newly-elected Congress MP from Kerala Anto Antony Sunday said he fears for his life and has filed a complaint with the police and the chief minister.

The Lok Sabha member-elect from Pathanamathitta, however, refused to give any details about the threat.

"Today, I gave a written complaint to the chief minister, home minister and Kottayam police superintendent. However, neither me nor my family require any police security," Antony told IANS.

"All know who are behind this, but I do not want to divulge the details," he said. He added that this has been in the air for a few days and police also alerted him.

Antony is having a long running feud with Kerala government chief whip P.C. George, who belongs to the Kerala Congress (Mani).

After the Lok Sabha election results were announced Friday, a scuffle broke out between supporters of Antony and George in the latter's home constituency Poonjar in Kottayam district. George's son was injured in the clash.

Antony, who was re-elected from the seat, had to face his former party colleague Philipose Thomas who contested the election as a Left-supported Independent candidate.
