Couldn't stop imagining: Shekhar Kapur on becoming filmmaker

Shekhar Kapur, known for movies like "Bandit Queen", "Mr India" and "Masoom", says he became a filmmaker because he couldn't stop imagining new stories everyday.

Kapur on Tuesday night took to Twitter and expressed that the stories he can't tell on films he narrates on social media platforms.

"I became a filmmaker because I could not stop imagining and telling new stories every day those I can't tell on film, I have started to narrate on Instagram," he tweeted.

Kapur's directorial debut was with "Masoom" in 1983, and he earned acclaim for the 1994 film "Bandit Queen", which was based on the life of Indian bandit and politician Phoolan Devi.

His biopics on "Queen Elizabeth" and "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" are much-awarded.
