Counting of votes in the 2014 general election would begin sharp at 8 a.m. on May 16, the Election Commission said Tuesday.
"The counting of votes would begin from 8 a.m. sharp and the trends would be available very soon," said a senior EC official.
The first trends would be available from postal ballots, he added.
The multi-phase Lok Sabha elections, which were held in 28 states and seven union territories, began April 7 and ended Monday.
