American country music duo Montgomery Gentry's vocalist Eddie Montgomery has lost his 19-year-old son Hunter in an accident.
"My son Hunter went to heaven today," Montgomery said in a statement on Sunday, reports aceshowbiz.com.
"I appreciate all your prayers and love and thank you for giving us privacy as we grieve and say goodbye," the country singer added.
A statement on Montgomery Gentry's Facebook page said the death came following an accident that left Hunter on life support at a Kentucky hospital.
"Unfortunately, we have to fill you in on more heartbreaking news this morning from the Montgomery Gentry family. Our sincerest love, thoughts and prayers are with Eddie and his family today," the band wrote on Facebook.
Funeral arrangements are pending, the statement said.
