A court here Thursday directed Tihar Jail authorities to file all the medical records of former parliamentarian Dhananjay Singh's wife Jagriti Singh, accused in a case of maid torture, while hearing her plea for interim bail on the ground of deteriorating medical condition.
Additional Sessions Judge Lokesh Kumar Sharma directed the jail authorities to file medical report of Jagriti after he was informed by public prosecutor and defence counsel that she was scheduled to be taken by the prison officials to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for a check-up Friday.
The court was hearing Jagriti's interim bail. She told the court that she needed to undergo gall bladder surgery due to her deteriorating medical condition.
Jagriti's counsel and advocate Pramod Dubey told court that the reports of Jagriti's medical test conducted at the AIIMS on Oct 1 were still awaited.
The court posted the matter for further hearing Oct 14.
Dhananjay Singh, accused along with his wife in connection with the alleged murder of their maid, was charge-sheeted Feb 1 for various offences, including destroying evidence and abetting murder and attempt to murder.
