The CPI-M began a three-day meeting of its central committee here Friday to discuss the Lok Sabha polls on the basis of the just ended state elections, party leader Prakash Karat said.
"The party will discuss political strategies about the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections," he told the media.
The Communist Party of India-Marxist will also review the defeat of the Congress in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
It is the first the CPI-M's politburo and central committee are meeting in Left-ruled Tripura.
Former West Bengal chief minister Budhadeb Bhattacharjee is among those who are not attending the meetings due to health and other reasons.
