A group of people clashed with police in London when the latter tried to stop an illegal rave, said a statement released on Sunday by Britain's Metropolitan Police.
Late on Saturday, police officers tried to close an illegal rave in Lambeth, cental London.
They were confronted by a crowd outside the venue, Xinhua quoted the Metropolitan Police as saying on Sunday.
During the confrontation, a number of objects were thrown at officers, including one petrol bomb, the police said.
The group also damaged private vehicles and property in the area, the police added.
However, in a social media message, organisers of the event accused police of bashing people senseless.
